Trans - Atlantic Cruise 2009

In September 2009 we flew to Copenhagen, Denmark where we spent a couple days sightseeing then boarded our cruise ship, the Emerald Princess, to begin our trans-atlantic cruise back to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida via Oslo, Edinburgh, Dublin, Belfast, Reykjavik, and Qaqartoq (Greenland). We had been scheduled to stop in St. John's, Newfoundland but gale force wea ther (85 mph winds, 32 ft. seas) kept us out at sea all the way from Greenland to Florida. We had bad weather only for about two days on this leg of the journey. Below are photos of our trip separated into several categories.

The photographs below are a distillation of over 2500 pictures I took over three weeks. Most of the originals have been cropped and enhanced in one way or another. Additionally, I've REDUCED THE SIZE considerably in order to speed up download time. I will happily share my photos with anyone interested. I'll be glad to send you the full sized originals or any modification thereof.

Each page below has "thumbnail" images. You may click on the thumbnail to see a larger view, although this is not the full high resolution image I have for most. Additionally, if you are interested, you may right-click on the enlarged view, then save a copy to your computer by clicking on "Save Picture As..". Alternatively, you may describe the photo to me using the number (e.g. _JWP9123.jpg) shown above each, and I will send you an e-mail of the high-resolution original.

Enjoy your viewing..... let me know your thoughts...
